Digital Media Entrepreneur Lopa Patel MBE has been appointed Deputy Chair of global volunteering initiative Sewa Day to help spearhead the project’s marketing strategy and primary schools programme.
Sewa is the Sanskrit word for “selfless service” and since its launch in 2010 Sewa Day has exceeded all expectations with tens of thousands of people rendering their service to others.

British Muslims Live Below The Line to raise funds for charity

Hundreds of British Muslims will be taking part in the Live Below The Line challenge from 29th April to 3th May 2013, living on £1 a day for food and drink to raise funds for charity.
Live Below The Line is being supported by a number of leading community figures including Imam Ajmal Masroor and Muslim chaplain, nutritionist and cookbook author Karimah Bint Dawood who is producing some 33p recipes for the challenge.
